Due to the current spell of poor weather and the resulting fixture backlog the League has invoked the following rules:

Wherever possible games must be brought forward ( for example, if teams are out of the cup/plate they should use the 6 March and 20 March as available dates to bring fixtures forward) . Weeks without a fixture must not be taken a 'down' week until every effort has been made get a game played.

If the home pitch is not playable then the game should be played on the away teams' pitch if this is available.

If neither pitch is available then a third party pitch should be sought (including astro-turf pitches*). Both teams should share the cost of hiring a third party/astro pitch.

Only when these options have been fully explored should the game be postponed under advice to the Div Rep. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in points being lost.

A mid-week fixture date of Wednesday 31 March 2010 will be introduced and Div Reps will schedule games on this date as appropriate.

Further mid-week games may be introduced in April if required.

Double Headers ( where play lasts for the normal time but each half counts as 1 game) will be instigated selectively by the Div Reps on a division by division basis.

As soon as the Div Rep needs to schedule a double header in any division the whole division will become subject to the 'double header rule'.

* There are Astro pitches at - Broadbridge Heath, The Weald (Billingshurst), Steyning, Downlands (Hassocks), Olympus ( Burgess Hill), East Grinstead Sports Club, K2 (Crawley) , Ilfield Community College. If you are aware of any others please let the League know.

Getting games played

Notwithstanding the poor weather conditions recently teams must make every effort to ensure games are played.

The League now expects the following:

- If the home pitch is not playable then the game should be played on the away teams pitch if this is available.

- If neither pitch is available then a third party pitch should be sought (including astro-turf pitches)

Only when these options have been fully explored should the game be postponed under advice to the Div Rep.
